Hello, I'm Dr. Chad Olle
I received my PhD in Psychology from Boston College and also trained at various other sites in the Boston area including a Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital. I am originally from Wisconsin where I got my bachelor’s degree in English Literature and my master’s degree in Community Counseling.
Like most therapists, I integrate elements of various approaches based on the interplay between cognitive, emotional, and behavioral factors relevant to a specific client. Once I have had a chance to learn about you and your situation, I can typically offer a personalized conceptualization of your issues along with how specifically therapy can be helpful.
I have pages on this site dedicated to how I think about and treat many common mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety, depression), but the best way to learn about working with me is to schedule a free phone or video consultation.

Services
Psychotherapy
Positive outcomes in any type of therapy rely, first and foremost, on a trusting relationship between client and therapist. My primary task from the start is to be present and attuned to you in the room—to listen and communicate in ways that help you feel more fully understood and accepted, even as we work together to deepen your understanding of yourself and the changes you want to make.Group Therapy
Interpersonal process groups offer a dynamic and transformative therapeutic experience, providing a supportive space for members to explore their interpersonal dynamics, receive feedback, and cultivate deeper self-awareness and connection. These groups provide a safe and supportive environment for members to interact, share experiences, and receive feedback from both the therapists and fellow group members. Best of all, group therapy works!Couples Therapy
My primary approach to couples therapy is called Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). EFT is an evidence-based approach designed to help couples deepen their emotional connection, improve communication, and create lasting bonds of intimacy and security. EFT is grounded in attachment theory and emphasizes the importance of emotional responsiveness and accessibility within relationships.Clinical Supervision Services
As a licensed psychologist, I offer clinical supervision services to support mental health professionals in their professional development and clinical practice. Clinical supervision is a vital component of ongoing professional growth and is essential for maintaining ethical standards and delivering high-quality care to clients.Specialties
Anger
Anger is a fundamental human emotion that signals when our boundaries have been crossed, our needs are unmet, or our values are challenged. I treat anger not just as an isolated emotion to be managed but as a doorway to understanding the self in relation to others.Anxiety
Anxiety is a normal part of the human experience and can serve as a helpful signal that alerts us to potential dangers and motivates us to take action. However, when it becomes excessive or overwhelming, anxiety can interfere with daily functioning and significantly impact our quality of life.Break-ups and Separations
My approach to breakups and separations specifically provides a supportive and reflective space for clients to explore and process the emotional, relational, and existential dimensions of a breakup or separation.Conflict Avoidance and People Pleasing
As clients work through their conflict avoidance, they often experience broader personal growth. This can include improved self-esteem, deeper and more satisfying relationships, and a more authentic engagement with life.Culture & Identity
My general approach is to remain curious about my clients’ experiences in all their facets. More actively, I am sensitive to opportunities to invite clients to make sociocultural aspects of their lives more known and understood.Depression
Psychotherapy can help individuals explore their depressive symptoms, develop coping strategies, and work towards lasting symptom relief and improved quality of life. Psychotherapy offers a variety of approaches to treat depression. My specific approach will depend on individual preferences and needs.Shame and Guilt
Excessive shame and guilt are key markers of depression and anxiety. My approach emphasizes the therapeutic relationship as a key element of the healing process, offering a new relational experience that can challenge and transform the ways you relate to yourself and others.Stress Management
One of the first things I try to do with clients coming in for stress management is to differentiate stress from anxiety. Stress and anxiety, while often used interchangeably in everyday conversation, have distinct differences, especially when considered from a psychological perspective.Trauma
Trauma is reflected in the nervous system in ways that are often unconscious and may manifest in avoidance and other behaviors that are confusing outside the context of the associated trauma. It often involves the rupture of relational trust and safety, leading to feelings of betrayal, abandonment, and powerlessness.Contact Dr. Olle
